Silver Dollar City is an "old fashion" amusement park set in the late 1800s complete with roller-coaster of all kinds. The staff wear old fashion clothes and the buildings and sets are all in that same theme. They have many craftsmen displays on things like glass blowing, horseshoeing, candle making, etc. The big draw at Christmas time is the 6 1/2 million lights all over the park and the Christmas shows and displays everywhere. It is quite a sight to see....even in the pouring rain like it was on Friday afternoon when we arrived.
We spent Friday and part of Saturday at the park, seeing the shows and displays, watching the parade and the Christmas tree lighting and enjoying the experience of 6.5 million lights. Unfortuantely, my phone did not get charged Thursday night (my plug was connected to a light which got turned off at night, of course.) so my phone died before taking many pictures. I then used Gary's phone for picture taking...
We watched a delightful musical version of Chirstmas Carol which was fun.
Then we headed toward home on Saturday late afternoon in hopes of avoiding too much nighttime driving.
Looking back to the park from the parking lot....
We drove back a different way than we came and got to cross this bridge.....
Bridges and dirt roads--elements of a successful road trip. We made one more stop on the way home (well, technically we made two more stops--one was the Ft. Smith Walmart for gas and things for our Christmas breakfast, but that wasn't worth mentioning.). See next post for the "one more stop" worth mentioning.
