Wednesday became the big day for prepping for our two day district meeting up in Bentonville. But first, I had to fry up the remaining dough from Monday night and share it with the missionaries at the Church for p-day. We found their cars parked in all sorts of angles. We have commented how each transfer there are small or big changes in how things are in the zone. Not good or bad--just differences. Car parking is one example. In the past, on P-days and other times that just missionaries are at the Church they used to all park so they didn't have to back up--usually all in a nice line parallel to the sidewalk. This group parks all different directions--sometimes to block others in--other times there is no rhyme or reason to their parking like this time....they still loved having scones (fry bread--as Elder Bigelow insists) with butter and honey even after a day of bowling and basketball.
Then back home, where the tables were beginning to be pile dup with the needed things for our district meeting with the senior missionaries in our mission. This was the first official gathering since we have been assigned as district leaders. We have met some of them at the temple and talked to all of them on the phone but this was the first time many of them would meet each other.
With a Christmas dinner and party, game night, district meeting and trainings, and a temple session, it took a lot of stuff to get organized for a Thursday morning departure. Glad we have an extra table to serve as our staging area--the job long held by our dining room table at home. Our kids are very familiar with boxes and bags of stuff gathering on the dining room table prior to some event I or dad was involved in. I don't know what people do without dining room tables. :)
