Monday Stop

We had a very amazing district meeting on Monday, December 11th.  Both sets of elders who presented to an excellent job.  One was on humility (a willingness to change) and the other one was hope  ( including the statement of President Holland-- "one great truth is Jesus loves you with His whole heart, might, mind, and strength."  Big topics of young men but they did a masterful job of leading the discussions.  These young men (Jena and I are the only sisters in our district.) are amazing!

We helped with transporting the Mena elders again to help them save miles.  This time after we dropped them off, we headed to the Square Rock Cemetery which un-surprisingly is connected to the Square Rock Church.  Along Hwy. 71, there are a number of "Square Rock" businesses and places and Gary had seen a sign for the cemetery.  It turns out that the square rock is in front of the Church.  Google gave me no answers on why this area was called Square Rock so I can't tell you if this specific rock was the reason or someone decided the Church needed a square rock in front of it.  There is also a Square Rock Lake and and Square Rock stream ..so there must be a reason...

We were able to get about 300 photos of graves which Gary has added to Find A Grave as needed.  Again it is always humbling to walk among these grave markers and get a tiny glimpse of lives and losses of those who have lived here before.  (But please put your maiden name on your grave stone if you don't want Gary to get mad at you.)  And don't get him started on nicknames with no further information--Crickett below was not legally Crickett---fortunately he was able to find the right husband which led him to her full information.  So, on my grave marker you will see "Judith" but also "Judy"...because I am really not a Judith in personality.
The weather was mild and beautiful and we loved being out taking pictures and serving in this unique ways.  There are lots of ways to "do good"!
