Senior District Meeting in Bentonville

The next day (now May 29) we packed up once again and headed back to Bentonville for our senior missionary district meeting which was set for Friday and Saturday. We had to do some shopping for groceries and get them delivered to the Hammer's home in Bella Vista before we headed to the hotel.

Sister and Elder Cook were the only other ones that came in Thursday night since they are about 3 hours away.  We had a great dinner at a Chinese buffet and then played games together before heading to bed.  We feel so blessed to have time with them and to enjoy their friendship.

Friday morning, we arrived at the temple to do temple sealing for two hours with some of the senior missionaries and then joined even more for a session in the temple.  We love these faithful missionaries and loved being in the temple with them.

We headed to Smokin Joes (again) for lunch--it is that good!

District Meeting at the hotel...

The original plan was to get together at the mission home, but then the Collins had to move out so that needed repainting and changes could be made to the mission home for the Hathaways who are arriving in a few weeks.  At first Sister Collins was confident that their AirBB would work, but Sister Hammer called and invited us to their lovely home in Bella Vista and we decided that was the best option to remove one more stressful thing from the Collins as they prepare to finish their service here in Arkansas.

Despite some rain, Elder Cook fried up our hamburgers and we all had a great time being together and sharing experiences.  We had each of the departing missionaries speak (there are several in the group) and then it ended with President and Sister Collins sharing their testimonies.  It was a sweet night which I was glad we could share with the Collins.  (These photos were mostly taken by Sister Ellis.)

People are one of the treasures that you gain as you serve a senior mission.  These are outstanding servants of God.....and as we found in the Headquarters mission, they ALL know how to clean up a party. Grateful for an evening together (even though we were missing 4 couples).

Saturday morning, we took a quick visit to Osage Park and to a few other art sites with the Griffins.  Everyone else had other plans with their YSAs at the temple or with local family.

It had been a busy few weeks....but one more fun thing was left....next post.
