US/Canada Team Social in Millcreek Canyon

Despite living in Utah for the past 25 years, I had never been up Millcreek Canyon, so I was excited when it was decided to have a summer social there for our team.  It was first scheduled in August, but had to be postponed which meant it ended up on Gary's birthday--which meant more birthday singing and a big chocolate cake!

It was a beautiful drive, a pretty location, and fun people--walking around on a small hike gave me some time to remember some of the camping trips our family had as I was growing up--it was a nice break from the busyness of the past few months.

Fall in the canyons is always a good place to be on a beautiful evening---

John, an intern, and Elder Lyn Creswell
We all brought our own dinners and treats to share....so many treats!!
Scott Christensen--manager for the team
Our "hiking trail"--just asking to be walked on,,,
Most of the trees were still very green.  We spotted a beautiful red one but couldn't find a way to get there for a good photo

A sample of the changing leaves...

Group shots of the team including staff and missionaries

The setting sun among the trees--light is so beautiful (my favorite word for this post today--apparently)

And, of course, there were S'Mores

Like I mentioned---so many treats!

Gary "sporting" his birthday gift--An Arkansas shirt but of course, had to make it funny by only showing the Kansas part!!  And actually part of Kansas is in our next mission so maybe he is predicting the future here.....
The Birthday cake--

Clean up afterwards meant we were felt with so many treats----

Again, a sweet way to end a birthday for Gary and start it for Jena!!
