October General Conference 2022--Another Way To "Look Up"

Again, we were able to get tickets to some General Conference sessions although not quite as close as last time.  We still had nice seats for both the Saturday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon session of Conference.

Elder and Sister Elder join the group
Saturday afternoon was extra special because we attended with Valerie (my sister) and her boyfriend, Austin Willcox.  He spoke Korean so we sent him up to talk to Elder Bai and Sister Lee--our former zone members from Korea.  They are always so sweet to us whenever we see them and I think they enjoyed speaking Korea with Austin.

The session was also special because they had a combined missionary choir which included missionaries from the MTC, service missionaries in the Salt Lake Valley, and our own Elijah choir from our mission.  We had about 70 sisters and elders mixed in the choir.

After the session, we headed over to Temple Square to show Valerie and Austin the progress

Some tarps to provide a bit of shade to workers during the week

It is amazing to see the work in person and pictures don't show the mass nature of the work that has been done or still needs to be done.
Well, apparently the only picture I took of Valerie and Austin--their backs.  I will have to grab one from Valerie's Facebook.

The elevator in the crane for those who need a fast way up....
The Assembly Hall--untouched by the current work being done.

Valerie and Austin headed to our apartment and we were able to have dinner, watch the evening session of Conference and play some "Blank Slate" before they headed back.  Valerie spent the weekend with Karla which was nice for them both.

One last session

Can't find a photo on her Facebook from Conference weekend although I know she took some, but here are the two of them at a recent trip to the Mesa Temple.  Austin Willcox and Valerie

How great it was to spend time listening to the leadership of the Church! To be reminded of the truths of the gospel and the great love of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are so blessed to be led by latter-day prophets who are directed in their works by the Lord Jesus Christ himself.

Next conference time we are scheduled to be at the MTC--another wonderful place to be during Conference Time.
