Family Dinner And Giberson Games

Perhaps not the usual way to spend the afternoon and evening after a funeral--but for us and for my dad, it was just right!

We catered the dinner because we didn't think an Amarillo Ward where dad didn't not belong in should have the responsibility to feed 80+ people after the funeral.  We ordered some Italian food (way too much)--

And for the future--I will label the family members--
Layne and Kim Rasmussen, Karla, Anna, Rick and Linda

Todd's family:  Daniel and Jordan with Ezra and Ramona; Lora and Siva with Kherrington, Sierra
Niles and his three kids Margot, Luka and Otto

Landi, Kylie, Carson, Valerie and (boyfriend) Austin Willcox

Megan with Stirling

Kara and Tommy and Parker

Starla and Jarom, Dottie, Scott, and Scott

Kyle and girlfriend Aleah, Andrea and Mike

We took about 30 photos of this group
It seemed a little strange asking the Bishop if we could stay until 10 and play games.  I didn't know this Bishop at all.  He had grown up in Amarillo and knew my family a little.  He was very nice and said that family time is the best and you take it when you can get it.

So after running home to change clothes, we returned to an evening of game playing and volleyball--traditional Giberson activities.

Wall to Wall Gibersons---game playing in the overflow and on the stage and volleyball in the middle.

Scott (H.) said that volleyball would have been really great if it had just been the grandkids--not with the great-grandchildren jumping in as well.  Of course, that is because my kids didn't have their kids here so it was a more relaxed evening for them.

Sweet times!
