Church History Library Zone Leaders

One of the great parts of serving as zone leaders has been our friendship with the Carters (Library Services) and the Hiltbrands (Special Projects).  Carters are completing their mission on June 5th and will soon be released.  We decided to get a picture of all of us before that happens.  This photo was taken in the classroom where we do the Church History Library Orientation twice a month for new missionaries.  It seemed like the perfect place.

The Halls, The Carters, The Hiltbrands

This is Elder Carter presenting the "Foundation of Faith" tour to the new missionaries.

Sister Marcie and Elder Kevin Carter are from Kaysville, Utah.  They chose to remain at home and just commute down to Salt Lake each day.  Elder Carter worked for the State of Utah over Land and Forest Management (or something like that) for 35 years.  He served his youth mission to Taiwan and the two of them taught English in China for a year a few years ago with the BYU Kennedy Center.  They have six children although one passed away as a child in an accident.

Sister Lorraine and Elder Steve Hiltbrand are from Idaho Falls, Idaho.  They have sold their home, however, and aren't sure where they might go after they complete their mission in November. They have a son in Idaho and their daughter lives in Layton, UT.  Elder Hiltbrand worked in banking.  This is their first mission as a senior couple.

We have enjoyed serving with them, going to dinners together, and even being in meetings together (although sometimes Gary and Elder Carter might be a bit too rowdy.)  They are our first line when we have questions or concerns and they have great insights and ideas.  We will miss our interactions with them as Carters are released.
