Golf and Jena

On May 7th Jena had her golf banquet which marked the end of her "career" as the CHS girls golf manager.  It has been a great experience for her and I am so glad that she was able to be involved during the past two years.  It has improved her golf game but also involved her in a different way with her peers.  It was a win-win situation.

One of her jobs was to provide treats for the girls on the day of each of their tournaments.  These were one example.  They were smelly markers which had a tag on them that said:  "Mark my words.  You are awesome."  The coach said that the girls loved them.  Most of them ended up with colored dots around their noses as they were smelling each of them while riding a school bus.

She will continue to do Special Olympics Golf but I think she will miss hanging out with her fellow CHS golfers on the course in West Point.
