Some Cemetery Visits

This week we made two stops for cemetery visits.  One on Monday at the Hon Cemetery  (south of Ft. Smith after we dropped off the Mena elders at their car in Waldron.)
There are so many artificial flowers all over the cemeteries here....
This was in a small valley area and the views were amazing.
As we headed down the road for home, I spotted this turtle so Gary turned around so I could get a picture of him.  His back has moss growing on it.  I don't know if he just woke up from hibernation or what...His shell was about 12" to 14" long.
Saturday after coming back from Springdale, we stopped at the Coil/Center Cemetery.  Gary had found this one because some of the family members from the Chester Cemetery were said to be buried here.

Right to the east was a small corral with some cows.  This one came over to the fence to watch me take pictures of the nearby stones.
It was a pretty location surrounded by farmlands and a small pond.

It is a sweet way to spend some time and it is wonderful when Gary finds that they are not in the Find A Grave at all.  Then we know that the person has a chance to be connected to his family.  I especially love it when we find infants and children would have not been added to families in Family Search.  I know that makes people happy!!!  Of course, Gary does all of the hard work.  I just take the pictures in the beautiful countryside and the pretty weather of Arkansas.
