A Mission Road Trip

..but no photos!  That is what happens when I have to drive.  It cuts down significantly on the photographs. (No cheering allowed, Gary Hall)

Friday, February 23, we woke up early and headed to Van Buren to pick up a mission car to take to Bentonville.  The mission regularly recycles their cars to keep them in great shape and to also maximize the resell values of the cars.  This car had some work done on it, but was due to be resold, so the missionaries had already received their replacement car.  Gary drove it up to Bentonville while Jena and I followed in our car...actually he followed us...anyway...

once at the mission office, we dropped our car and the other car off and headed off to Springfield, Missouri, with two new trucks to switch out with sets of missionaries who were there attending their zone meeting.  I wasn't sure about driving a new truck on the hilly roads of southern Missouri, but the truck was easy to drive and the weather was so beautiful.

We got to say hi to some of our missionaries who were now serving up in this part of the mission, before we headed out with the old trucks to return them to Bentonville to be sent off to auction as well.  Jena rode with Gary both ways in the trucks and of course, we took two different routes there and back--and on the way back, we even took different routes from each other--not sure how that happened, but we both loved our drives so it worked out.  All in all from Ft. Smith to Springfield with stops in Bentonville both ways, we drove around 400+ miles.  We left at 7:40 am and got back around 6:30 pm.  Some might not like that type of day, but I found it so restful to just be driving in a beautiful place with the quiet of the car and the countryside.

After a quick dinner, we headed to the Church for young adult game night from 8:00-11:00 pm.  We were definitely ready for bed when we got home!!!

We told the mission office we are open to delivering cars anytime anywhere as long as it could be worked into our schedule! Hope we can do it again!
