Finally Happy Birthday to Carter and Alex!!!

happy birthday (late), Carter and Alex!!

Life has been a bit busy around here but finally on October 15th, we made it to Syracuse to celebrate Carter and Alex's birthday.  I broke my self-imposed rule to never buy stuffed animals for my grandchildren because usually kids have way too many of them. However, Jessica and Elessia had gotten the girls a "Vet Center" to take care of their stuffed animals--so....

my first plan was to get some pound puppies.  Jessica loved them when she was their age and I had seen them "somewhere" recently so thought I could find them.  No luck even with Amazon, so I decided to buy them some "unusual" wild animals---

A sloth for Alex....

and a penguin for Carter.
They liked them and also loved popping the bubble wrap in the boxes.

Twins are quite fun and we are glad to have our very own set in the family.

Carter loves to read books and can play by herself for hours.  She has had a tough year with health-related problems including brain surgery in the spring, but has bounced back better than ever.  She is not a fan of hospitals but still manages the variety of appointments she has to do with only small McDonalds or other treats.  She loves dinosaurs of all kinds.

Alex loves animals of all kinds...in person, in books, and on TV.  She also loves princess dresses (see above) and is often found wearing one during the day (and to bed if she can get away with it.) She thinks she is as big as her brothers and is often trying to do what they are doing even if she is too little (and wearing a princess dress which makes some tasks more complicated.)

We love you sweet ones---Happy birthday!
