on to Thursday and beyond.
On Thursday morning, my sister-in-law had a MRI done on her brain. It was determined that she had a slow growing tumor on the right side of her brain. Surgery to remove it was scheduled for Saturday. The good news was that they expected it to be easily removed and to not be cancerous as it appeared to be one that was not usually. She and my brother had to remain in the hospital until surgery and she will probably be there until Tuesday or so.
Ironically, it was my brother, Rick, who helped me gain a peace about Linda and her situation. We had been texting in the morning before the MRI results came back about some of my blog posts. As we texted back and forth, I could sense a calmness from him and a willingness to be faithful no matter what was ahead. His peace finally allowed me to feel peace as well.
Saturday morning, the surgery went as expected and Rick sent this picture from the recovery room:
So happy to see her smile!!!
We were arranged help from three of my nephews to help move the couches from Grandma Hall's house for us to take down to Jessica. While they were there, I had them "re-enact" the taking off of shoes at the step by the front door--a memory Bryon had shared with me for my funeral talk.
Chris, Nathan and Bryon Page
I love these boys and their mom would (and is) so proud of the men they have become.
We were able to run to Jessica's and enjoy a quick moment as the new couches were carried into their house.
Zander, Liam, and Alex jumping on the old couch. It was cold and Carter wisely stayed in the house.
We headed back home and we enjoyed the BYU football game which was played on a gorgeous day for a November. BYU won in this weird Covid-season. They are undefeated at this point.
Then Jessica ended up with a flat tire in their van (and all of the car seats) so I headed back home and had another quick visit with Jessica. Always fun, especially during this time when we don't see each other as often as before.
And just because this is the type of week that we are having: This morning we got a call from our nephew who just a week ago was added as the primary guardian for his step father--our brother-in-law-- while we are serving our mission--telling us that Allan (who is in a memory care unit and we have seen him only twice since mid-March in person) tested positive with Covid. He is the first person in the unit with a positive test and at this point they have no idea where he got it because they have been so cautious and in lock down due to the virus. We knew he had been running a fever for a couple of days but assumed it was due to UTI which he occasionally will get. We are shocked and sad for him that he has to be sick without family nearby. So far, he has only ran a fever and had some vomiting. It is just a waiting game at this point. He is not sick enough to go to the hospital at this point.
And now I am finally caught up!! It has been a crazy few weeks and life is full of that type of stuff and we are okay! Because the good so outweighs the bad!
