Welcome, Welcome Sabbath Morning...

Actually it was afternoon when we attended our first "in-person" Sacrament Meeting with our Ensign Peak Branch which meets in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building downtown Salt Lake City.  We have been attending virtually, but decided on the first Sunday of December to make the 40 minute drive down there to attend in person.  Jena came with us.

The building had been the old Hotel Utah but was redone by the Church and reopened in 1993.  Scott and Chantel had their wedding luncheon here.  Our mission office is also in this building on the 3rd floor.  The actual Chapel is in an old ballroom and is very ornate, especially the ceiling.  No pictures inside there, but here is the view of the Christmas tree in the lobby from the balcony deck.....

...along with our "plus one" missionary companion.  Despite the fact that the building is closed to the public, there is still this beautiful tree to be enjoyed by the few people still working in the building.
Looking back into the doorway of the chapel and the amazing ceilings in the hallway.
We will be there again on Wednesday for some mission things.

It was great to see some of the people that we only have met virtually...although through masks, please don't test me on their names!
