After Jena's Gigi Christmas party, the Relief Society morning brunch, and then our Friend Party on December 2, you think we would take a bit of a break, but no.....that is not how we are doing Christmas this year...
June 3rd--Sunday evening we were actually scheduled to have a birthday dinner and party for Zander who turned one on December 4th. However the birthday boy was sick, so we postponed it a week---which turned out to be a fortunate delay (more later about that). Of course, not fortunate for Zander who had a cold, but he was soon feeling better and turned one despite being sick. Oh, how lucky we are to have Zander in our family. He can be serious, but when he smiles, the world smiles with him (and he loves his grandma. Just ask him.)
December 4th: We hosted a Neighborhood Caroling Party. This is the first time that we have tried it and it was great. Neighbors tell us it should be a yearly tradition. We started at one end of our street and went in and out of the two cul de sacs and ended up at our house. We pulled our fire pit on to the driveway and Gary made a big fire to warm our singers and then we headed inside for cookies and hot chocolate. No pictures, but we had about 30-35 people off and on through the event. We will see about next year! I especially loved the kids who came who had never seen carolers before. When I was little, it seemed like there were usually 3-5 groups who would come by, but it is an older tradition, I guess.
One of our neighbors took a video of us singing at one house and posted it on Facebook. Here is the connection if you are really bored...(don't know how long facebook links will work in the future, sorry to make great grand children who might not get to see it.)

And then there was a break from parties and the Christmas SHOWS began.........
