I wish that I had had a blog for the whole time when we were raising our kids. (I know, I could have kept a journal, but I somehow didn't get that gene from my mom.) So, I have more about Jena than my other kids, because of the times that the blog covers. I hope to go back and write about our experiences as a family but those will lose much of the moment to moment feel of this (almost weekly) blog.
With that long disclaimer, here is a moment in Jena's (and my life)---Jena taking her turn reading scriptures in Relief Society. She belongs---and all of those struggles for reading instruction and support were paid back to me--as I watched her participate in this little way. She uses her phonic skills (thank you, Lori Call) for new words and asks for help if the word "is too big" or unfamiliar--another important skill.
And sometimes (almost always) her sweet voice stills the room and invites the spirit to be there and blesses us all with another testifier of truth!
