YW Brunch

Back in Plano (at least for a few years when we lived there), they always had a special activity to honor the YW and YM who graduated---nothing serious but something fun to say good-bye.  I loved that idea, but haven't ever been in a position to do that since we lived here in Utah.

This year the Laurel class who graduated contained a couple of girls who have been awesome with Jena.  She loved them and they loved her.  They understood that she was one of them and allowed her to be a complete part.  She will really miss them. (although we are lucky because there is still other great girls in her Laurel class). We wanted to do something for them.  After talking to the YW president, who was the mom of one of the girls, we decided to have a surprise brunch for them and the other Laurels and Mia Maids at our house.  It was hard to fit it into everyone's schedule but we picked a Wednesday morning.  Not many people came but it was fun.  It is tricky with Laurels and Mia Maids with jobs and school sports. We ate waffles and signed journals for all five of the seniors who graduated.

Silly picture!
Of course, Sis. Woodrow (Debbie) is a close friend of mine, so after everyone left, I showed her Jena's room which she hadn't seen before since we painted it:

Debbie loved it.
These are Jena's posters which finally
got done.
 And my sunflower "fence"---

It is odd---I think my friends across the world see more of things inside my house than my ward members.  When your kids are little, you are back and forth into each other's houses often.  Now we rarely are.  It was fun to share things with her.  Of course, she loved every thing (she is great like that).
