Missionary Assignments As Member And Leader Support Missionaries In The Ft. Smith YSA Branch

In case you were wondering what our assignments are, here is a brief summary:

Teach Institute in Ft. Smith (Tuesday)  and in Clarksville, AR  (Thursday) It is about 60 miles directly east of Ft. Smith

Provide dinner for both Institute classes each week

Encourage YSAs in the stake to be involved in Institute

Serve on the Stake YSA committee and support the stake activities for YSA

Support the YSA branch in Ft. Smith (a very small branch of about 25 young adult).  President Carter is the branch president.  That is where we go to Church.

Nurture and support the YSA within the stake as directed by the stake presidency and the branch presidency.

We are involved in zone and district meetings and activities with the young sisters and elders in our area of the the mission.

We conduct apartment inspections of the missionaries' apartments throughout our zone each transfer cycle.

We support the young sisters and elders in ways that we feel directed--invite for dinners, bring treats to meetings, etc.  We have the YSA elders to dinner once a week since we are both serving in the same branch.

And in our free time--besides planning lessons which is a big time commitment, we have decided to take time to photograph headstones for Find a grave and Family Search,  Gary goes the extra mile by finding the person in family search and adding the grave marker information.  So far, he has had to do extra research to be able to add them to the correct family group there.

And that is what we do in a nut shell!
