Oro Valley- Saturday/Sunday

We started off with a trip to the Honey Bee Canyon in Oro Valley to watch Scarlett and James and some of their friends do some rock climbing.  It was a cool spot and a nice hiking area just a few minutes from their home.  They are blessed with some great friends who have kids the same age and they often do things together on the weekend.

The mouth of the canyon had been closed by this rock wall with only a small entrance to enter into it.

Playing in the dirt...of course.
They found some coals and decided to paint their faces
James is free cliimbing on some nearby rocks.

Someone had placed an anchor in the rocks so the kids could climb up and then bounce back down with the belay rope securing them.  Scarlett made it to the top but here she is about mid climb.  It takes concentration and patience to climb but they both did well.

Gary and I walked down the canyon for a bit to see a bit more.  It opened up and was a pretty walk in the dusty bottom.
Leaving the park, we stopped for a group picture

Saturday afternoon they had a neighborhood party with a potluck.  James brought out his climbing blocks for the neighborhood to enjoy.

Sunday, we attended Church and then enjoyed a fun afternoon playing some games and then having a great dinner together.  Scarlett played her violin for us.  This is her serious playing face.
