Vocal Point

One of the good things about Facebook is that you learn about things that you didn't know about--Case in point, one Friday night a few weeks ago, I was looking at Facebook and a fellow missionary made a comment about Vocal Point coming to the Conference Center Theatre that weekend.  They are a men's acapella group from BYU and Jena and I are fans.  I got on the site and ordered tickets for the two of us (Gary was preparing his talk for the next day.)  We were so glad we did!  They sang a variety of songs, had some funny little acts between sets, and it was a fun time!

It was also the last performance of their director for the past 11 years--and he sang in the group for the four years before that.  They have been a group (with a revolving cast of singers as they are all students).  So they had an emotional good bye to him with many of the former singers and spouses joining him on stage.

Check them out on YouTube!  One example:

We laughed and cried, dancing and sang and it was a great night!  Successful Mother-Daughter date on a cold winter evening in downtown Salt Lake....and we were able to walk there and home.
