The transfer cycle that ended the end of May was done differently than before. Instead of having Monday as p-day, it was moved to Wednesday. Instead of being notified of transfers on Sunday evening and then moving on Friday, missionaries were notified on Wednesday morning (at 7:00 am) and then the transfers on Friday.
Missionaries are encouraged to do cultural activities on their p-days to learn about the areas where they serve so we went together to a local art gallery on that Wednesday. It only has items by local artists and included stories and information about the art work next to it. I liked it but it wasn't everyone's idea of a good time.
Mostly, they were in shock because so many missionaries were transferred--more than expected, Alma area was closed, and the YSA missionaries were transferred away. We were all sad. We took some group shots but I haven't seen them yet. Part of missionary life we are just getting used to--people coming and going!
