Our mission's standard P-day is Mondays until 6:00 pm when the young missionaries return to missionary work. Senior missionaries have a total different direction for their days and much more flexibility. As a result, we don't have a set "p-day" and some weeks that means we only have P-hours throughout the week to take care of things like housework, recreation, etc. Mondays, we are often busy preparing lessons for our two Institute classes as well as needed food prep for the two meals we serve.
However, the P-day after Mother's day, we joined the missionaries for the day as we shared my gift from Gary with them---our 9 Square Game. This is a game I first saw at my sister's house and knew it would be great for Institute and for the missionaries. It is somewhat like 4 square but it is played above your head.
We had a great time playing, but Gary and I were sore for a couple of days afterwards.
Jena got me a ladder ball/bean bag toss game. Here she and Sister Fleming are playing.
We joined the missionaries in parking sideways in the parking lot--for them, it is to avoid having one of them act as the backer when they back out. I guess that worldwide there are about 10 accidents a day by missionaries caused by backing up accidents---scary since most of them are using the backer.
A glimpse of missionary life---
