Lorraine and Steve Hiltbrand have served as the zone leaders for the Special Projects Zone in the Church History Library. I know that we say this about everyone, but we have loved getting to know them and to work with them as zone leaders in the Church History Library and within the mission. They are from Idaho Falls, Idaho and returned there at their release. The good news is that they are hoping to move to the Syracuse/Layton area to live near their daughter in a year or two.
We are already making plans--at least Sister Hiltbrand and I--to go on a cruise together with the Carters (the other former zone leaders in the CHL) after our next mission is finished. Some people you don't want to lost contact with. Hiltbrands are that kind of people!
It was with the Hiltbrands and the Carters that we started the tradition of going to dinner every six weeks or so as zone leaders (with Jena, of course.) We continue that tradition but it won't be the same without the Hiltbrands and Carters.
Goodbyes are hard---a little piece of your heart!
