Just wanted to touch on a few other aspects of the MTC experience--
I had the best companions......the area where we mostly had to walk had covered walkways which was good because we had several snowstorms during our stay.
Another storm as seen from our room |
We were grateful for the covered walkways |
Poor tulips.... |
The chocolate milk at the cafeteria is AWESOME! We miss it.
We got to attend an evening session at the Provo Temple with half of our group of senior missionaries. That was Jena's first time to the Provo Temple and made even sweeter knowing that it will be remodeled completely before we have a chance to attend there again. The food was okay--some delicious, others so-so---but the Smor Chocolate cake was amazing! (The COB lunchroom is so much better.) And to see the young sisters and elders was great as well.
Watching conference in our room.....
Saturday night we opted out of getting dressed up again and went to Cafe Zupa's. Nice change from cafeteria food.
As you noticed, I loved the art work around the buildings. One display was about the modern day prophets. They created collages of some of the historical events connected with each of the prophets. I loved the one for President Kimball. I love President Kimball--he was the prophet of my early young adult and the first prophet I saw in person.
Leaving the MTC for the last time.......outside the gate now.
And just like that, it was over!
Reading about it is probably not anywhere close to experiencing it! It was hard and challenging but it was amazing. A friend told me that someone said to her that the temple was the Lord's house but the MTC is the house of the Holy Ghost. I agree and what a privilege to spend time there being taught.
