Happy 90th Birthday, Sister Forman!

On September 14, we celebrated Sister Forman's 90th birthday.  She is an amazing woman who I have talked about before in this blog.  She has served in the Library for over 13 years.  And recently, she made a goal for herself to graduate from college.  Her own mother was a school teacher who passed away a few months after she and her twin sister were born.  And then her dad passed away when she was nine.  So she doesn't know much about her mom.  However, she knew that education was important to her mom and she decided that before she "meets" her in the here after, she better finish her degree.  She enrolled in the Pathways program and has been working to complete the last two years of her BA degree started over 70 years ago.  She will finish next spring.  Isn't that amazing!  There was an article about her in the Church News about her life and her birthday day.  It is excellent.  Search for Joyce Forman.

We had a fun slide show with a variety of pictures from her service in the library!

Elder Kyle McKay, the Church Historian and General Authority Seventy, came in and shared a few words.  One of the things he shared was the news that the Church building in the small Utah town where Sister Forman had been raised was just bought by the Church because of its historical significance.  What a special moment for Sister Forman who loves that little town and Church.
Missionaries and staff joined in the celebrations.....
Sister Forman shared her experiences and testimony and of course, a memorized poem.
