Last week was transfer week in the mission which meant on Wednesday morning--about 7:00 am, the zone has a call and transfers are announced. Then on Friday, the big switch is made. I think I was more nervous than the young sisters and elders. We love them and it is sad to see them go, although I know that it is good for the work for things to change and for them--to have new experiences and new companions to work with.
So that made Wednesday's p-day extra special as we said goodbye to missionaries leaving the zone for other places to serve within the mission. This time the whole zone came together for the fun.
Most of us started off with lunch at .........
And chicken fingers is what they serve. Even the chicken sandwich has chicken fingers in it. It was good and the French fries were excellent. Jena who LOVES chicken strips-fingers-nuggets of all kinds came it a thumbs up.Driving down the street, we passed Gary street again so I finally got a picture. Jena loves pictures like this.
After lunch we headed to Creekmore Park which is a pretty park with a small train.
The missionaries took a ride just as we were getting to the park,,,,,
Aren't they cute!!!!
Then we hopped on for another ride with them.
It was a pretty park and it even had a miniature golf place but the missionaries decided to switch parks

By our nineth hole, we were very hot and ready to be done and everyone else was also ready to call it. When I got in the car and checked the weather it was 95 degrees and the heat index was 109. In fact, there was a heat advisory for the area! Humidity was about 75 degrees which led to the high index. We were so happy to head to the Church where air conditioned air waited for us!! Then it was games and basketball.
As senior missionaries are WE suppose to be the smart ones who say-let's check the heat index before we plan an outdoor activity???? Hopefully not or we messed up. Jena said it was a perfect p-day when we headed home in the late afternoon. (She must have forgotten the HEAT of the day.) She loves being with the missionaries. And we love watching her with these great young men and women.
