We woke up to piles and piles of snow on Monday, March 27th.
That made even getting to the MTC a bit of an adventure. We were in our truck (because our car was still in the shop waiting for a part to arrive) which turned out to be a good thing, because 4-wheel drive is nice to have in snow. Here we are stopped before the freeway entrance. We had to wait here about 6-8 minutes before we could even get on the freeway in Layton and start our trip to Provo. What is normally a 1 hour and 15 minute trip took us about 2 1/2 hours even though the road were clear once we got to the Point of the Mountain in south Salt Lake county. It was a slow drive with lots of slide offs on the side of the freeway.
A bit more adventure than we expected to start our second mission, but it is all part of the story. We made it to orientation and to our opening meetings and we got the famous picture in front of the MTC map.

It was really happening. At 67 years old, I was finally experiencing the Provo MTC in person--the place where so many family and friends have gone.
