Now the fun was really in full force...

On the calendar, I had a run of Christmas and other activities for 7 out of eight days in a row starting with a talk for Young Women in Excellence on Dec. 11.  That run stopped just after it got started, because the evening of my talk (which he of course helped run the computer for me), Gary started feeling sick.  He ran a fever and had stomach issues for over two days.  I came home the following night to be with him instead of attending my work party and then by Thursday evening, we realized that we needed to cancel our Hall Adult Almost Annual Christmas Party.  His fever finally broke on Thursday evening but I knew he needed a day or two to recover and not be worrying about getting ready for a party.  That is why it is called the "Almost Annual."  I think this is only the third time that we have had to cancel--all due to illness.  This year, however, we just postponed and are holding it on January 18th.  Still doing the white elephant gifts, but maybe more to a Valentine's theme for the activities and food.

Fortunately, Gary felt well enough to attend the Voice Male Concert in Ogden with Jena, his mom, and I.  It was great as usual--nice blend of traditional and moving Christmas music with silly and fun.

Next day was the Annual Hall Extended Family Christmas party held at Nathan and Cynthia Page's home in Kaysville.
Carter being held by Emily
Zander and Alex had colds, so Jessica just brought Liam and Carter.  Someone asked Gary if that was his granddaughter someone was holding and he quipped, "I only recognize them in sets of two."  It was weird to be with Carter and not have Alex there, too.
Charon and Scarlett--picking Christmas songs to sing
The day after that activity, we did our second annual Neighborhood Christmas caroling party with donuts and a fire pit.  I love this picture of Scarlett and Chantel at the fire pit.
And then we rested.  It was a lot of great moments with family and friends, despite Gary being sick.
