YSA Temple Trip to Bentonville

On December 9, we met at the Church and headed up to Bentonville to do baptisms for the dead.  This was Karinna's first time to the temple and the elders were able to ride with us to be part of that special occasion. We also had Rowan, a non-member, who came as well to visit the temple grounds and learn more about the temple. Rozy stayed with her during the time we were doing the baptisms...a sweet example of service.  Rowan is scheduled to be baptized during the Christmas break back in what will become her home ward in Colorado where her family lives.

On Sunday, we took a picture at Relief Society because it is the last time Sister Halle will be in the YSA Relief Society (because she leaves for home at the end of the month) and the last one for Mara because she will be starting her mission on January 1 to Guam.  (Mara is the red-headed one next to Jena)

Things are changing like they always do in young adult branches.  But it is good to capture moments from time to time.  The person next to Jena on the other side is Candy who was baptized yesterday (December 16).
 

Another Arkansas Bug

He has been hanging on our outside door jam for a couple of days.  Hence why he is upside down.  A ward member said he is some type of stink bug due to the ridge over his head and part of his back. New places come with "fun" new bugs!
 

Clarksville End of Semester Party

We got to the Clarksville Church on Thursday to find the Relief Society room and the Cultural Hall all set up for the Ward party on Saturday.  We needed two round chairs so "borrowed" them, covered them with our red table clothes and set up for our dinner and game night.  We had our three students plus they brought three friends which made it fun playing games together.

Tried a Tortellini soup which turned out great.  We will definitely have this again.

Forgot to get a picture of the group!  It was a fun, low stress evening and we enjoyed interacting with the Clarksville young adults and their friends who joined us.
 

Christmas Lights

Coming home from Institute, Gary took a different route through a nearby neighborhood so that we could enjoy the Christmas lights. It was a enjoyable break and some of the houses are amazing with music on a radio station to match their light displays.  Amazing what people enjoy doing...It must take days and weeks to put together--you wonder what the neighbors must think of the extra flashing lights and additional traffic...'tis the season!
